When Does the Crowd Come Back?

Ripples 1 AA11

You know how when you’re at that stage, that truly special stage? All you can see is each other, no one else exists. Even in a crowded public space, no other eyes catch yours; invisible strings pull you two to each other, opaque walls block off all else.

All you see is each other.

When does the crowd come back? At what point do you suddenly catch flashes of colour in your peripheral vision, at what point does it occur to you that there are more people in the world?

Why does it happen? Boredom? The devil? Some nameless, animal itch that can’t be stopped? Or is it pride? Your ego just won’t let you prostrate before another. You resent his/her hold on you, feel you deserve to have more than just one person fawn over you.

At what point does the crowd come back?

  1. Those are very thoughtful questions you raised. Really, these are the things partners should ask themselves when the relationship isn’t just working any more. Answering some of these questions will be a step in the right direction towards putting back the relationship on its lovely footing.

  2. There are a few conclusions to be drawn from here… Initially, it feels like the world revolves around you two because you have put ur best foot forward, its like a honeymoon stage. Then gradually, the flaws start to show, that’s when the crowd begins to reappear in the picture.

However, if u both hold on to the reason why you fell in love in the first place and can deal/live with the flaws then the crowd wont matter. If you cant, your voices would be drowned by the noise from the crowd soon enough u’ll be listening to them and no longer each other.

  3. @RustGeek, Hmm…it’s not bad to see only each other, the issue is, why stop?
@Joseph, Thanks for that. Good to know I’m not the only one thinking of this kinda stuff:-)
@PET, You are very wise. But is that the only reason? The “noise of the crowd”?

  5. You’ve asked one of the big questions in life: Why do we inevitably take for granted something we, at one time, thought we couldn’t live without? Why can’t we hold onto the thrill?

I don’t have the answers, but I’m glad to know I’m not the only one wondering.

Spill the tea, sis.
