Black Coctail

21-10-2010

Escape,
as a moth…
Fly out of me
as I, too,
yearn for release.

Scream,
like the dead…
Call out to heaven
as my soul, too,
calls out to be rescued.

Flow,
as ink…
Stain the page
as my blood, too,
is stained.

I’m yours;

  1. :|Either MC is mind orgasmic by inspiration to let lose some creativity or she is getting extremely creative about being suicidal or still the cry of a woman begging to be disvirgined

Nice poem. The true story lies with you

  2. Re-read thrice, to be sure I left out nothing. Closely resembled a piece done by ‘whiteTowel’ titled ‘I am’. But from what I read, I was being asked to express myself just as ‘my beloved’ would express herself too. A mutual feeling; something felt but have yet to be verbally communicated by the one upon whom convention has placed the responsibility of being the ‘first responder/officer’ in police parlance. Good work miss.

  3. Thanks for reading and telling me about your very weird interpretations. Mostly, I was told the poem is about achieving orgasm…
    Hmmm.
I wrote this because I can’t do without writing. Sometimes I get caught up in life and don’t have time to write, and this is how I feel. Like there’s something scratching away inside my being; like I need to let it out, visibly, so it can let me rest again… It’s the urge to scream, but on paper. The desire to rise above the world, yet relate to it. This poem is the confusion I feel whenever it is time for writing to come out of me, and also the fear that whatever comes out will not be good enough.
    Cheers.
